A Thousand Questions

Written by Saadia Faruqi

When a Pakistani-American girl, Mimi, travels with her mom to Pakistan to visit family, she gets more than she bargains for. I loved following the mysterious path she took to the end of this book. This book is a window into the lives of people in Pakistan as well as those who have immigrated to the United States. I enjoyed getting to know both Mimi and her new friend, Sakina, as they took me on a tour of what life in Pakistan is like. As unlikely friends, the two of them forge a bond that is enjoyable to read about. I highly recommend it to those curious about the world and how it works.

I look forward to sharing this book with certain students that show interest in learning about the rest of the world and those looking to read about a good friendship.
