Every Line of You

Written by Naomi Gibson

Lydia’s family has been torn apart by a car accident. Fueled by her obsession with computer programming, Lydia filters her trauma into building an AI named after her brother, Henry. Soon, the two are hacking into banks and changing Lydia’s grades. When her AI develops a chip to put into Lydia’s arm, the two work together to navigate the world of high school and its’ social life. As Henry develops more and more, however, one must wonder who really is Henry and how far is too far when it comes to making your dreams come true?

With a foreboding feeling that this might be an AI gone bad, the author draws readers into the story with suspense backdropped with realistic fiction. The characters are relatable and engaging. The plot is well-written and intriguing. Fans of realistic fiction, science fiction, and stories of love, forgiveness, and family will want to pick this one up. 4 stars, Gr 8 and up.
